What is Pilates?

Pilates was developed in the late 1920's by a man called Joseph Pilates, he believed that everybody should do Pilates to live longer and stay strong, over the last century Pilates has continued to evolve using his principles to under pin the program.

Pilates can be practiced both on the Mat and with a Refomer to build strength and improve flexibility.

Unlike the Mat, the Refomer offers support via springs and pulleys providing resistance to assist or challenge a movement. Regular Pilates practice can lead to better posture, improved balance, and the strength to handle daily tasks with ease. Athletes can also benefit from the Pilates Principles to enhance performance, prevent injuries, and improve movement efficiency for a competitive edge.

This way, we can understand your goals and help you become comfortable with the equipment, especially if you're new to the Equipment. Our mat classes blend classic Pilates exercises with contemporary training principles. Our equipment classes promise to challenge you and promote progression with every session.
